Baselworld is the largest watch and jewellery show in the world. Based in Switzerland, the show hosts over 2,000 of the world’s most prestigious watch and jewellery manufacturers who come to reveal their latest creations and clinch up to 80% of their annual turnover.

Problem
Baselworld was going through a period of transition and required support with promoting the show, media relations, managing stakeholder communications and developing media interest in the 3 month building up to, and during, the event.

Solution
A concentrated media relations campaign across three continents attracted 1,500 journalists to the 10 day long event. During the show a daily newsletter was produced together with a media programme, press briefings, media launches, information sheets and an in-depth analysis of market trends. Journalists were able to file copy from a state-of-the-art, media centre and media interviews were managed and arranged on request.

Result
Baselworld had a record year achieving a media attendance of over 1,500 journalists from 43 countries and attracting over 100,000 retailers and wholesalers to the event.
